impressions on these are shown below.

The basic gauge.

The gauge being used to set the track gauge.

The gauge being used to set the check rail gauge.

The gauge being used to gauge the flangeway clearance.

Three gauges mounted on a threaded rod (not shown in detail)
being used as a three point gauge on a curve.
If you are interested in these gauges please email your
intent to fands@finneys.org.uk
indicating the gauge, standards and rail section your are interested together
with the quantity of gauges required. This will allow us to estimate our
production quantities more accurately.

MINT GAUGE

This is a new Track Gauge
originally developed to assist
in maintaining
the gauge
through the switch blades whilst construction is in progress,
The gauge has no legs with which to grip the
rail head, it simply sits on top. The
two lugs are positioned to be a sliding fit in the track and through the minimum
flangeway. It
acts in the same way as the three legged gauge
to give gauge widening, irrespective of
which way round it is.
It has been found that the
gauge can be slid through any piece of track either plain or point and crossing.
If the gauge of the track is correct it will slide along sweetly,
under gauge will cause it to jam whilst over
gauge will allow it to move from side to side. It will check that the flangeway
widths are not too narrow, whilst
removing
the gauge
from the rails and inserting only
one lug,
will
check if the
flangeway is too wide.
It
will find the vertically or horizontally misaligned rail joints as well as the
misalignment of Vee
and wing rail.
A
versatile gauge to complement the three legged and NMRA style rail gauges you
already have.
